Award trophies, trophies are souvenirs of victories. When they are given as awards they are called award prizes. Awards are usually given to honor a set level of excellence achieved by an individual. Award prizes include those given for cultural events, sporting events, company feats, or courageous achievements, like those done by police and fire fighters. But as good as Hollywood can be at complimenting its own there are always anti=Hollywooders who are ready to let Hollywood know that not every picture is an award winner. The desire to keep Hollywood in its place has spawned some funny prizes and award shows and the award show of all is the Razzies. The Razzies is short for the Golden Raspberry Award and it is given each year for the worst actors and worst movies Hollywood put out for the previous year. The trophy is a big golden raspberry and, of course, very few hollywood celebrities show up to the ceremony every year to gather their award. In soccer, the World Cup captures the imagination of the entire world. The team that wins and the individual players that shone through the tournament are etched in public memory.
